Play Group activities over the summer and autumn have been pretty much videogame-oriented. Please see power up for reports and details.

Renowned games scholar Jesper Juul will be giving a guest lecture for the Game Culture students (and guests) on Thursday 21st April (7pm in room 9 at St. Matthias). His presentation is titled: Videogames in the mind of the player.
The playful subjects website has just been updated with presenter details, abstracts and info. on accommodation.
Helen and I have been teaching a new module on the MA Cultural and Media Studies called Game Culture. And we think it's been going rather well!
The module will occupy a central role in the new MA in New Media that was validated before Easter and will run from Sep 2005.

The Play Research Group are hosting another symposium this year - May 14th. Seth Giddings has been hard at work putting together a website for the event. The site is still under development but you can preview it here www.playfulsubjects.org and register interest here admin@playfulsubjects.org There are limited spaces for paying delegates but we have 10 free postgraduate places on a first come first served basis. No excuses..
